Starting the day with a healthy breakfast helps you stay active all day long specially when you want to shed some weight. People often think eating healthy food means that you have to stick to eating salad and veggies but that’s just another myth. You can eat everything and still stay healthy by eating it in the right portion and by changing the way you cook your food. In this blog post I’m going to share 5 of my favourite healthy & Quick breakfast ideas that you can make easily at home.

1- DAAL DALIA (CRACKED WHEAT)
Ingredients :
1/2 Cup dalia
1/2 Cup dal
1 bay leaf
1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
1 tsp Red chilly powder
1 tsp Salt
Procedure: Take a cooker.
Add Dalia and dal in a cooker along with Bay leaf, Turmeric powder, Red chilly powder and salt and 3 Cups of water.
Close the lid of the Pressure cooker and after one whistle of cooker slow down the flame and let it cook for 4-5 cook more.
After 5 mins turn the flame off and let the Pressure release by itself. When the pressure released.
Open the lid of Pressure cooker and add tadka.
Tadka : Fry a Pinch of Heeng ( asafoetida) and 1/2 tsp Zeera (Cumin seeds) in desi ghee.
Your nutritious daliya is ready to serve!
2- OATS CHEELA:
Oats cheela is the easiest healthy breakfast that makes a person full for a longer period of time. It has high fibre and low calories which promotes healthy weight loss.
Recipe :
INGREDIENTS NEEDED
1/2 Cup OATS ( Rolled oats)
1/3 CUP GRAM FLOUR
1 ONION
1 TOMATO
1 CAPSICUM
1/2 tsp Red chilly powder
1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
1/2 tsp Cumin powder
1 tsp SALT ( ACCORDING TO YOUR PREFERENCE)
Procedure:
STEP 1- SOAK OATS IN WATER Take a big bowl and add 1/2 Cup oats and 1/2 cup Water mix it and cover it let soak for 15 mins atleast.
STEP 2- ADD ALL FINELY VEGGIES CHOPPED AND MASALAS. STEP 3- MIX ALL TOGETHER IN THAT SAME BIG BOWL With less than 1/2 cup water. Do not make batter very thin.
Batter is now ready!
Use a non-stick pan to make your cheela as it makes cooking easier but in case you don not have non-stick pan you can also use your normal pan as well.
STEP 1 – GREASE THE PAN WITH 1TSP GHEE
STEP 2 – POUR BATTER WITH THE HELP OF LADLE IN MIDDLE OF PAN –
(Keep the flame low) Spread the batter evenly in round shape and let it cook for 3-4 mins till it become light brown then flip it and let the other side cook till it becomes light brown.
Serve your healthy oats cheela with green chutney and a bowl of dahi.
3- VEGETABLE OMELETE:
INGREDIENTS :
2-3 EGGS (2 WITHOUT YOLK)
1 ONION (FINELY CHOPPED)
1 TOMATO (FINELY CHOPPED)
Masalas :
1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
1/2 tsp Red chilly powder
1 tsp salt
Procedure:
Mix well all the ingredients in a bowl.
Now you are ready to make omelet.
Heat the oil in a frying Pan and add eggs cook each side 3-4 mins each side.
4- POHA:
Poha is one of the healthiest options for breakfast. It is easily digested, Rich in Iron, Controls blood sugar levelss. It is also a source of healthy carbohydrates and is low in calories.
Poha Recipe :
1- Add One tbsp of Mustard oil (Cook it atleast for 5-8 mins, To check whether the oil is cooked or not add tiny piece of roti in oil if it is cooked nicely that piece of roti will burned into black/brown)
2- One tsp of Mustard seeds
3- One chopped onions
4- 4-5 curry leaves
(Add half cup of water after 2-3 mins)
5 – 1/2 tsp of red chilly powder
6- 1/2 tsp of turmeric
7- 1/2 tsp of coriander powder
(avoid or take half tsp of 8,9 ingredients if you like less spicy food)
8- 1 tsp of green chilly sauce
9- 1 tsp of schezwan chutney
( Add one cup of water)
10- One bowl full of rosted poha
Cover it now and Let it cook for 5-6 mins till it absorbs all water
If you love eating boiled egg you can add chopped boiled egg in your bowl! (2-3 mins before you start making poha just keep your egg for boiling to save your time )
5- BESAN ROTI:
Besan ki roti with ghee and chatni (sauce) is a great meal option for weight loss. It helps me feel full for a longer period. Besan helps in burning calories faster because of lower glycemic levels.
INGREDIENTS :
1/3 cup besan
1/4 cup atta
Mix both the dry ingredients, add salt according to your taste and make a dough. Now, make rotis out of the same dough and sever with mint & coriander chutney.
